2010 - 2015: Acrylics

In the last series of his life, Jarvaise focused on a body of large acrylic paintings that were as colorful as they were steeped in abstract design. After working much of his life in oil paint and collage, the artist employs the use of acrylic paint to further flatten the picture plane, creating sharply defined planes of color that are juxtaposed against other chromatic planes.  The resulting images are neatly constructed, incredibly vivid paintings. In these last works, the artist shows a continued fascination with patterning and color fields.
